Serena Williams makes post-pregnancy Grand Slam comeback in killer bodysuit
Following a ream of post-pregnancy health complications, Serena Williams is back on the tennis court.
The 36-year-old made sure she looked like a superhero during her first major sporting appearance by donning a black, full-length Nike catsuit during the win over Kristyna Pliskova at the French Open yesterday.
Sharing a picture of herself on Twitter, she wrote to fans that her actions were for all mums who’ve had a “tough recovery from pregnancy”.
She said: “Catsuit anyone? For all the moms [sic] out there who had a tough recovery from pregnancy – here you go. If I can do it, so can you. Love you all!!”

In September 2017, Williams gave birth to her daughter, Alexia Olympia Ohanian Jr with husband Alexis Ohanian.
After what was a relatively simple labour, doctors discovered that Williams had a pulmonary embolism: a blood clot in the lungs.
As a result of that embolism, her coughing also popped open her c-section wound – at which point they also found a large hematoma (also clotted blood) in her abdomen.
In other words, Williams has not had an easy ride post-labour. But the bodysuit, as well as helping her deal with her blood clots issues, didn’t look half bad either.
Williams told the BBC that she felt like a “warrior” in the outfit:
“I feel like a warrior wearing it, a queen from Wakanda [a reference to the Black Panther movie] maybe,” she said.

“It was comfortable to wear.”
She added: “I’m always living in a fantasy world. I always wanted to be a superhero, and it’s kind of my way of being a superhero.”
She also said that the suit has “functionality” to it.
“I had a lot of problems with those [blood clots] – I don’t know how many I have had in the past 12 months,” she said. “It definitely has little functionality to it.
“It’s a fun suit, but it’s also functional so I’m able to play without any problems.”
