Serena Williams' baby becomes youngest person ever to grace American Vogue cover

Serena Williams has graced her third Vogue cover but this time, the tennis champion’s four-month-old daughter Alexis Olympia joined in on the shoot.

The mother-daughter duo star in the pages of U.S. Vogue’s February issue and it is the first time a baby has starred on the fashion Bible’s cover.

The 36-year-old debuted the historical moment on Instagram earlier this afternoon with the caption: “When I first saw this @voguemagazine cover it brought tears to my eyes. All Vogue covers are special but to share this one with my beautiful daughter @olympiaohanian also the youngest Vogue cover star makes it moment I will never forget.”

In the accompanying interview, Serena speaks candidly about the realities of motherhood and the pressures of becoming a first-time parent.

“Sometimes I get really down and feel like, Man, I can’t do this,” the tennis champion admitted. “It’s that same negative attitude I have on the court sometimes. I guess that’s just who I am. No one talks about the low moments – the pressure you feel, the incredible letdown every time you hear the baby cry.”

She continued, “I’ve broken down I don’t know how many times. Or I’ll get angry about the crying, then sad about being angry, and then guilty, like, Why do I feel so sad when I have a beautiful baby?The emotions are insane.”

The 36-year-old has graced a series of magazine covers in recent weeks, as she revisited her star-studded nuptials for Brides‘ February issue.

The tennis champion welcomed her first child, Alexis Olympia, with husband Alexis Ohanian back in September 2017.
