Selma Blair makes first red carpet appearance since MS diagnosis — complete with a blinged-out cane
While all eyes were on the Oscars red carpet, this stunning look from Selma Blair at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party is one you definitely don’t want to miss.
The 46-year-old, who announced late last year that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, wore a gorgeous black, pink and lilac gown complete with a cape.
Her cane, which she now uses to assist with her mobility, got some customised bling ahead of its public debut, including her initials and a real diamond.
It’s the first time Blair has made a red carpet appearance since her diagnosis.
It proved to be an emotional experience for the actress, who broke down in tears on stage.
Wow. Incredibly powerful moment on the #VanityFair red carpet. @SelmaBlair broke down in tears “it took a lot to come out here” She recently opened up about her battle with MS. The entire room cheered her on. @CBSLA pic.twitter.com/6LhPjPJ00X

The moment we will all be talking about tomorrow is the courageous #SelmaBlair, making her first appearance since announcing her MS diagnosis, at the VF Oscar party. She needs a cane to help walk, but she came to prove that no matter how tough this disease, she is a fighter. 🙌 pic.twitter.com/bCTo0hA59d

Blair opened up about her diagnosis in a lengthy Instagram post this past October.

“I am disabled,” she posted. “I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken GPS. But we are doing it . And I laugh and I don’t know exactly what I will do precisely but I will do my best.”
Selma – we definitely think this look from you tonight is your “best!”
