People on social media have voiced their displeasure at Samantha Cameron’s choice of attire to the Service of Thanksgiving, held in St Paul’s Cathedral today, for the Queen’s 90th birthday.

The Prime Minister’s wife turned up in a (admittedly gorgeous) L.K Bennett blue and white striped dress. However, the garment has ruffled more than a few feathers on Twitter for not having any sleeves.

Many have commented that the dress is inappropriate for the church service, where one, traditionally, covers one’s shoulders.

Especially as the service was held in honour of Her Majesty.

Viewers of the service, which was aired live on TV, took to Twitter to voice their disapproval with one user commenting, “Gosh #SamanthaCameron with her bare arms in St Pauls… my dear mother would be turning in her grave… not the done thing (sic).”

Another suggested, “SamCam could do with a cardigan”.

Others have taken a more whitty approach suggesting, “Guessing that SamCam is straight off to the beach after this” and “SamCam, it’s not a pool party”.
