Ryan Reynolds discussing taking his kids on a flight is ALL parents
We’ve long been advocates of the Ryan Reynolds school of parenting. Since becoming a dad in 2015 to daughters James, two and six-month-old, Ines, the actor has been keeping us amused with his witty 140-character-liners on fatherhood.
“Being a father is the single greatest feeling on earth. Not including those wonderful years I spent without a child, of course,” he once tweeted. LOL right?
But in his most recent parenting admission the dad-of-two perfectly summed up the trauma of flying with children. Speaking to Good Morning America he admitted that pre-kids he sympathised with parents who were desperately trying to keep little ones quiet on a flight.
“I was always like ‘God that’s hard’,” he told Good Morning America.
“You can see they’re sweating and they’re nervous because their kids are yelling and everyone’s mad at them.”
And now he’s a dad himself he’s determined not to have to live through the unpleasant experience, joking that he would rather ‘drink rabies’ than take them on a plane.
“I would rather drink a piping-hot bowl of liquid rabies than get on a plane with my two children,” he said.
“At two years old, they just have to rip all their clothes off and introduce themselves to everyone on the plane and it’s just like: ‘Please, can we just land in a farmer’s field?’”
But in a separate interview, the dad also discussed the more serious side of parenting, admitting that he had become more ‘anxious’ since becoming a dad.
The 40-year-old who is married to Blake Lively, told Entertainment Tonight that parenting gives him ‘anxiety’, because he now finds he is constantly in a rush and has to cram things into short bursts of time.
“I think you’re just more desperate in everything you do, ’cause you’re like, “I’ve got 10 minutes to do this, and then I gotta get home for a thing, and a thing, and a thing…”‘
“There’s just no time anymore,” he continued. “So you’re hardened by it. Anxiety, I think, that’s probably it.”
