Kate supremely chic in tonal outfit comprising £465 camel coat and £5 earrings
Kate, Princess of Wales has officially returned to work after a two-week break from royal duties, spending half term with three children and husband, Prince William, and marked the occasion in a supremely chic tonal outfit, complete with camel coat, perfect for autumn.
The 40 year old stepped out with her husband, the Prince of Wales, in Scarborough on Thursday in an all-beige tonal outfit, indicative of the style usually chosen by Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.
The Prince and Princess of Wales arrived at The Street community hub in Scarborough for a series of engagements and to launch funding to support young people’s mental health in a collaboration spearheaded by the Royal Foundation.
The mother-of-three layered up in a flattering camel-coloured knitted turtleneck dress, which she cinched in at the waist with a coordinating darker woven brown belt by Boden.
Brown leather Ralph Lauren high heels and a pale toffee-coloured DeMellier Nano bag completed the beige tonal look, save for the customary British Legion poppy on her left lapel and an old pair of £5 Accessorize gold circle earrings.
But it was Kate’s new camel coat which caught our attention, and was the focal point of her outfit (a duchess signature move).

The princess has added another camel coat to her collection. Slightly different from the £365 caramel Massimo Dutti coat worn previously by the princess, the new £465 Max&Co. camel coat featured a single-breasted opening (which can be worn with or without a belt, like Kate) and was slightly lighter in shade.
A classic camel coat is a timeless wardrobe staple that can be reached for time and time again, as displayed by many of the female members of the Royal Family.

The caramel and beige toned outfit was reminiscent of Meghan’s go-to style when she was part of the working Royal Family.
The Duchess of Sussex would regularly reach for her £3,000 Max Mara coat to wear atop brown and camel colours herself.
Even Sophie, Countess of Wessex opted for a Max Mara camel blazer at the National Fruit Show at the Kent County Agricultural Society on Wednesday.

That being said, it's not the first time Kate has dipped into the tonal look. The Princess of Wales opted for a similar tonal style in March 2021, when visiting the Newham Ambulance Station in East London, and in May the same year during a visit to Scotland, where she matched the camel colour of her much-loved Massimo Dutti coat to the colour of her red and beige tartan scarf.
Kate completed the ‘three’s a trend’ mantra in January this year when she stepped out in another tonal look at the Clitheroe Community Hospital in the north east of England.
