Kate continues honouring Diana with another very similar outfit
The Prince and Princess of Wales visited a former London 2012 venue on Thursday to celebrate a sports charity’s 10-year anniversary since its launch.
Kate, 40, looked impeccably polished in a vintage blue Chanel blazer, which bore a striking resemblance to one worn by her late mother-in-law 20 years ago.
Princess Diana opted for a tweed blazer by the French designer, in the same cobalt blue shade, for a visit to Great Ormond Street hospital in 1992.
The double-breasted blazers featured breast and hip pockets in the brand’s signature fabric, however Diana’s version was slightly oversized, and Kate’s featured a lapeled collar with a darker navy trim.
It’s rare for the Princess of Wales to be seen in an ensemble by a European fashion house, usually opting for British-based brands for public occasions.

Diana, however, would often experiment with the bigger design houses of Paris and Milan, especially after her divorce from the then Prince Charles.
Kate combined the 1995-era vintage tweed blazer with high-waisted wide-legged trousers from Roland Mouret and a pair of black suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

She finished her look with a pair of gold hoops from her go-to ethical jewellery brand, Spells of Love, and an Astley Clark necklace, which featured a blue lapis lazuli centre stone.
The mother-of-three has long been conscious of the impact of her style, and has veered towards vintage items of late. She wore a vintage red Yves Saint Laurent safari-style jacket that she has owned since her university days on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ and a 1950s striped turquoise and coral dress, sourced from Willow Hilson Vintage, on the Royal Tour of the Caribbean earlier this year.
William and Kate took part in the event with Coach Core, which was launched by the pair's Royal Foundation 10 years ago, in east London’s Copper Box Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The independent charity aims to create the next generation of sports coaches to inspire their communities and has helped over 750 disadvantaged young people get onto community sports coaching apprenticeships.

On the Lindo Wing steps
Both Kate and Diana opted for red as they introduced their sons to the world on the steps of the Lindo Wing of London's St. Mary's Hospital. Kate, in 2018, after the birth of her third child, Prince Louis, and Diana with Prince Harry in 1984.
Both outfits featured an added subtle curved collar to their outfits.

For their first visit as Princess of Wales
Both fans of wearing red for pubic occasions, both Kate and Diana opted for red and black outfits for their first official visits to the Welsh capital as the Princess of Wales, Kate in 2022, and Diana in 1981.

At Wimbledon
Princess Diana would regularly opt for her go-to pattern of polka dots for her visits to watch the tennis at Wimbledon, and Kate has followed in her footsteps, choosing spots twice for her visits in 2022.
In a red coat
The collar on the Kates's red Eponine London coat dress, worn to visit Wales over the Platinum Jubilee weekend in 2022, looks similar to one Princess Diana wore to visit to RAF Wittering in Cambridgeshire in 1989.
In emerald sequins
The Princess of Wales stunned in an emerald green, sequinned Jenny Packham gown for a reception hosted by the British High Commissioner to Pakistan which looked remarkably similar to one Diana wore The Diamond Ball in 1990.

Wearying navy polka dots
The late Princess Diana often favoured a polka-dot print, and Kate wore an almost identical dress to her late mother-in-law's 1985 style during a visit to Bletchley in 2019. The 80s-inspired style, which cinches in at the waist, was a silhouette often worn by her late mother-in-law for public occasions, and one that Kate has adopted over the years as her own.
In Superga trainers
Always one to get stuck in with her charity work, Diana chose a pair of SuperGa Cotu trainers as she made a speech in Angola, where she was staying for four days as part of a Red Cross Project in 1997. Twenty years later, Kate wore her white version of the canvas trainers at the London Marathon, and regularly chooses them for sporting events and the like,
