Princess Beatrice takes style cue from Meghan Markle in identical pleated skirt
The ‘Meghan Effect’ has already rendered a series of items sell-out status with the Duchess of Sussex‘s wardrobe providing the nation with a dose of style inspiration at every royal engagement.
Now, it seems even her relatives are taking sartorial cues from the former actress, as Princess Beatrice was photographed in the same skirt as the Duchess last week.
On September 20, Meghan hosted a lunch at Kensington Palace to celebrate the launch of the ‘Together: Our Community Cookbook‘ – her first solo royal endeavour.
And the 37-year-old used her newfound platform to showcase close friend Misha Nonoo’s eponymous line, as she dressed for the event in a pleated skirt by the American designer.

She teamed the look with a $1,195 (approx £697) regal blue coat by Canadian label Smythe and a $110 (approx £82) protocol-breaking Tuxe body.
The following day, Princess Beatrice visited two Pupil Referral Units in partnership with charity Big Change. But it didn’t take long for eagle-eyed royal fans to note that the royal was wearing the exact same Misha Nonoo skirt as the Duchess.

In a similar fashion, she also wore the pleated number with a crop top but instead of a powder blue coat, opted for an autumn-ready number.

In terms of accessories, the 30-year-old ditched the Duchess’ go-to Sarah Flint heels in favour of bejewelled loafers.
But it’s not the first time a member of the royal family has looked to Meghan for fashion assistance, as sister Princess Eugenie also recently sought inspiration from the Duchess’ engagement photo call.
Back in July, the royal attended the Nelson Mandela Centenary Celebration in London wearing a pair of Aquazzura Matilde suede pumps – the exact same heels Meghan donned for her engagement photo back in November 2017.
Princess Eugenie will wed Jack Brooksbank on October 12 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor and only time will tell if the 28-year-old seeks inspiration from Meghan on the big day.
