Prince William's furious phone call to Princess Diana: 'I'll never forgive you'

To this day, people still talk about Princess Diana’s explosive 1995 interview with BBC Panorama host Martin Bashir.
In it, Diana opened up for the first time on camera about Prince Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, admitting there had always been “three people” in her marriage.
The interview left Charles and the royal family in shock. Now, reports have emerged claiming Diana’s eldest son, Prince William, reacted furiously to the interview.
In a new Amazon Prime documentary William and Harry: Brothers in Arms, royal correspondent for Vanity Fair Katie Nicholls claims how William – who was 13 years old at the time – called her in a ‘rage’.
“William was exposed to everything from the interview and called his mother in a fury and a rage,” she said.
Katie was given a further insight to the phone call by the late Princess of Wales’ close friend, Simone Simmons.
“[She told me] it was the one time William turned on his mother and said that he would never forgive Diana for what she’d done,” the royal correspondent recalled in the documentary.
Kensington Palace have declined to comment.
William opening up about Diana’s 1995 interview
Last year the Duke of Cambridge opened up about the shocking 1995 interview, in a documentary to mark the 20th anniversary of Diana’s tragic death, Diana, 7 Days.
“I can understand, having sometimes been in those situations, you feel incredibly desperate and it is very unfair that things are being said that are untrue,” he said.
“The easiest thing to do is just to say or go to the media yourself. Open that door. [But] once you’ve opened it you can never close it again.”
Finding out about Diana’s death in 1997
In the candid 2017 documentary, Prince William and Prince Harry also open up about the moment their father, told them the news.
“One of the hardest things for a parent to have to do is to tell your children that your other parent has died,” Harry said.
“But he was there for us, he was the one out of two left and he tried to do his best and to make sure we were protected and looked after.
“But, you know, he was going through the same grieving process as well.”
The Duke of Sussex also spoke about his disgust at the people who chased her into the tunnel snapping images of Diana as she lay dying in the car, claiming it is one of the “hardest things to come to terms with”.
