'Prince William has special place in his heart for one royal child' - it's clear for all to see
Prince William is a doting dad to three young children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - but he has a 'special relationship' with his only daughter. The future King has a close bond with nine-year-old Charlotte, having even been spotted wearing a friendship bracelet made by her during a recent Royal engagement out in South Africa.
The Prince of Wales, 42, wore a small blue and beaded bracelet with the word 'Papa' on it while on a trip to Cape Town in November. The sweet handmade gift from Charlotte is no doubt a demonstration of the close bond she shares with her father, who wore the bracelet "proudly and prominently", says former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond.
Chatting exclusively to OK!, Jennie said: “William will have known that the bracelet she made for him would draw a huge amount of attention - he wore it proudly and prominently. It was an endearing sign of how close he is to his daughter. I’m sure Charlotte will have watched her dad in South Africa with pride, especially after such a brutal year."

The expert went on to delve into the special relationship between William and Charlotte. Jennie added: “I think daughters and dads tend to have a very special relationship – especially when there’s only one little girl in the family. And this seems to be true for William. I’m sure he’s immensely proud of all three of his children, but there is perhaps a particular place in his heart for his sporty little Charlotte."
The nine-year-old Princess is also a "source of great joy" for King Charles, who had always wanted a daughter himself. As well as his granddaughter, the monarch also "adores" his daughter-in-law Kate, 42, Jennie noted.
“It’s a source of great joy for the King to have a granddaughter. He had always hoped for a daughter himself and now he has a darling daughter-in-law he adores - they are closer than ever after their cancer experience - and a granddaughter he loves to be with as often as life allows," she also told OK!.
King Charles, 75, has no doubt grown closer to his family over the past year. He announced earlier this year he'd been diagnosed with cancer and has been undergoing treatment.
However, he has continued to undertake Royal trips and engagements. It's been confirmed he is planning to travel overseas next year, with a senior palace official recently saying: "We're now working on a pretty normal-looking full overseas tour programme for next year. Which is a high for us to end on, to know that we can be thinking in those terms, subject to sign-off by doctors."
