Prince Harry And Meghan Open Up On Honeymoon
If nothing else, Harry and Meghan fans, we can at least rule where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex definitely didn't honeymoon after their royal wedding in May.
It had been rumoured the royal couple enjoyed a romantic getaway in Namibia, but Harry set the record straight when asked about their post-wedding holiday at the Queen's Young Leaders Awards Ceremony at Buckingham Palace yesterday evening.
Young philanthropist Mavis Elias from the African nation asked the prince whether they had visited her country, to which Harry replied: 'No, we didn't go to Namibia. I'm not going to say where.'
Elias later said of Harry and Meghan (via Hello!): 'They are very engaging and they are looking forward to working with the people across the Commonwealth.
Royal fans have been determined to work out where Harry and Meghan holidayed after their royal wedding in Windsor in May, with TMZ claiming the pair went to the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada.
It was suggested that the pair stayed at the Outlook Cabin, which is part of the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge complex, located in the Unesco World Heritage Site of Jasper National Park.
The Outlook Cabin has a royal heritage, as the Royal Retreat and has previously hostedthe Queen and Prince Philip in 2005, and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1939.
Ahead of their trip to Ireland next month, it has also been reported the newlyweds enjoyed an unofficial visit to the country for their 'mini-moon' after their wedding. The Telegraph reported that Ashford Castle in Co. Mayo was closed for other guests earlier this month, with an increased security presence spotted at the five-star hotel.
Meanwhile, at last night's event, Meghan disclosed that she had an early wake-up call when Harry arrived home at 6am after getting back from his royal trip to Lesotho.
Reekelitsoe Molapo - founder the Educate Your Peer Foundation - told press after the ceremony: 'To have the Queen honour your work like that at an event to celebrate us is amazing. She said, "You are from Lesotho, Harry just came back from there this morning". Meghan said the same to me afterwards. He arrived this morning at 6am".'
David Beckham and Lenny Henry were also at the event which celebrated achievements of young people from across the Commonwealth.
