Prince Harry opens Princess Eugenie's door to Ed Sheeran in mysterious Instagram video
Prince Harry opens the door to singer Ed Sheeran in a new clip to promote the duo’s upcoming collaboration for World Mental Health Day, which falls on Thursday, 10 October.
The teaser clip, shared earlier today on @SussexRoyal – the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s official Instagram account – shows the Duke opening the door to the internationally successful musician.
In the short piece of footage, Sheeran, 28, presses the doorbell, which rings to the tune of God Save The Queen. Prince Harry, 35, then answers the door in a grey polo shirt and shakes Sheeran’s hand.
“Mind if I bring the camera in,” asks Sheeran, to which the Duke responds: “Course, yeah, come on in, guys.”
The screen then goes black, with the words: “Tomorrow 10th October”.
There has been some discussion over where the clip was filmed.
The white exterior led some to assume the clip was filmed in Frogmore Cottage – the Sussexes’ residence.
However, a tell-tale pane of glass in the front door suggests it may belong to Ivy Cottage, a three-bedroom residence in the grounds of Kensington Palace, London, where Princess Eugenie has lived with her husband Jack Brooksbank for the past year.
The theory is further substantiated by a black and white photograph of Eugenie and Jack taken at the couple’s wedding in October last year, which is visible in the background of the clip.
Sheeran is also believed to be “good friends” with Princess Eugenie, according to Town & Country – although the singer was touring with Elton John in the USA during her wedding.
Royal fans are going crazy for the exchange on Twitter – calling it “relatable”.

The nature of Prince Harry and Ed Sheeran’s collaboration has yet to be revealed.
This isn’t the first work Prince Harry has done in the area of mental health. He first discussed managing his mental health difficulties in a candid interview in 2017 with The Telegraph’s Bryony Gordon.
Earlier this week, he took part in a mental health film for the Every Mind Matters campaign, alongside wife Meghan Markle and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The two royal couples also spearhead the Heads Together mental health initiative.
