Prince Harry's favourite outfits and where to buy them

When it comes to royal fashion, the Duke of Sussex is often left out of the headlines with little conversation given to his outfits.

Yet upon closer inspection, it seems that, like the Duchess of Sussex, he also underwent a Kensington Palace wardrobe overhaul.

Prior to meeting Meghan, the 34-year-old was often photographed in relaxed chinos and multi-pocketed cargo trousers - a ‘safe’ approach to Sloane dressing.

Fast-forward to his debut engagement alongside then-fiancée Meghan in Nottingham in December 2018 and Prince Harry surprised fashion critics with a sneak preview of his new closet in a slick camel coat and co-ordinating scarf.

The royal has continued to surprise the nation ever since by sticking to a muted colour palette and his go-to sartorial weapon (that J. Crew blazer) on countless public engagements.

Prince Harry’s favourite J. Crew Blazer

One of the Duke of Sussex’s most popular closet items is the failsafe J. Crew blazer which he has reportedly worn 24 times in public since April 2018.

But he doesn’t just own one, as he has four colourways hogging the couple’s wardrobe.

His go-to number appears to be the £475 ‘Ludlow’ wool-linen jacket in light grey, a look he was first spotted wearing back in April 2018 for a Commonwealth reception in London.

He has since been photographed in the blazer countless times with the look proving especially popular in July 2018 when he wore the look for a trip to the Southbank Centre in London, an appearance at the Sentable Polo and during the couple’s joint visit to Ireland.

He even went so far as to pack the blazer for the royal tour of Australia and New Zealand in autumn 2018 where he was seen in the cult item on two separate occasions.

But it was on May 8, 2019 that the royal really proved his love of the blazer, as he wore the go-to accessory to present his newborn child, Archie, to the world.

Though that’s not the only style he’s a firm fan of, as he also owns the £188 ‘Ludlow’ version in all three colourways - ‘deep water’, ‘mushroom’ and ‘navy’.

The royal’s go-to Everlane jumper

When Prince Harry removes his long tailored jacket on royal engagements, it seems he’s a firm fan of the round collared knit.

In fact, his favourite jumper appears to be a $100 (approximately £82) cobalt blue cashmere knit by Everlane - a label also championed by his wife, the Duchess of Sussex.

Harry was first photographed in the jumper during the couple’s trip to Wales in January 2018 and went on wear it three times over the course of four months.

The tour-worthy Hugo Boss suit

When it comes to dressing for a regal engagement, the Duke of Sussex’s signature look is a navy suit and one of his most famous is courtesy of Hugo Boss.

Adding another US heavyweight to his closet, the father-to-be kick-started the couple’s debut royal tour of Australia in a £780.21 navy suit - which is still available to shop.

Prince Harry’s love of desert boots

Seven years ago, Prince Harry proved that he was the first out of him and Meghan to have serious holding power over the fashion industry, all thanks to a pair of Russell and Bromley desert boots - which he owns in both cobalt blue and brown.

The royal was spotted wearing the shoe brand’s £115 ‘Chuck’ shoes during the Diamond Jubilee tour of Belize and the Bahamas which promptly led to a waiting list.

Since then, Prince Harry has built up quite an impressive collection of desert boots. In January 2019, he stepped out in a brand new pair of Ted Baker ‘Delani’ shoes which have since sold out.

While his most recent shoe of choice appears to be the £235 ‘classic’ desert boot which is available in three colourways online.

The ‘dad fleece’

A blush-faced Duke of Sussex captured the hearts of the nation when he gleefully announced that he had become a father for the first time.

For one of the most important photo calls of his life, the royal chose an apt ‘dad fleece’ (first seen on day one of the Australian royal tour in autumn 2018).
