Prince Archie's nanny on 'surprising' first meeting with Harry and Meghan
Prince Archie's former nanny, Lorren Khumalo, shared that her first meeting with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was quite "surprising". Lorren, a paediatric nurse and consultant, was hired by the Sussexes to care for their first child, Archie, just months after his birth. At the time, Harry and Meghan were living at Frogmore Cottage, before they announced their decision to step back from Royal duties and move to the US. In an interview in her home country of Zimbabwe, Lorren spoke about her initial visit to Frogmore to meet Harry and Meghan.
She recalled how she was made to feel comfortable by Harry's informal greeting while speaking on The Breakfast Club with Zenzele Ndebele last year, where she also opened up on her dilemma on what she should wear.
Lorren said she decided to dress in dark clothes paired with kitten heels, and opted not to wear any make-up. She said: "I wasn't born with a silver spoon, I'm not blue blood, I will go as I am and trust me with my God, I'll get this job."

She then shared that she got a speeding ticket on her way there for driving "too fast". She said: "So I got there and there's lots of checks that they do but when I got there I expected to see a princely somebody, in those very expensive German, Swiss suits or something. He was in his jeans, in a t-shirt, walking barefoot because it was hot. And I kept asking his PPO, so his protection officer, 'Do I curtsy, do I have to?' And he just looked at me and laughed and he said, 'You'll see, Prince Harry is amazing'."
"When I got there, the way he opened his arms 'Hello Lorren!' and gave me a hug. [I thought] 'Wow, what a gentleman, what a gem', oh my goodness, I couldn't believe it. And when I walked in and saw Meghan I thought 'My God, what a beautiful woman'. I just felt so comfortable, it wasn't so formal as I expected it to be, it was just a normal home."
In other news, Meghan and Harry were reportedly puzzled over the public's anger at them naming their daughter after Queen Elizabeth. Princess Lilibet was born in June 2021 with the couple announcing that their daughter's full name would be Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, with her first name honouring Harry's grandmother and the second his own late mother.
However, according to claims made in a royal book, the former monarch was reportedly "furious" with the couple who have been accused of not asking for her permission to use her childhood nickname. According to Robert Hardman, in his book Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story, the Queen reportedly said to her team: "I don't own the palaces. I don't own the paintings, the only thing I own is my name. And now they've taken that."
The Sussexes, however, are reported to be shocked by the reaction and a source has claimed that the report is "not true" and that Harry and Meghan got permission from the late Queen to use the name.
