Golden Globes: Hilary Swank and Kaley Cuoco both debut baby bumps on red carpet
Like the wide majority of women globally, many celebrities don’t stop working when they’re pregnant.
Actors, models, and musicians still fly around the world promoting their films and TV shows, albums and singles, and attending some of the biggest events on the celebrity calendar (looking at you Met Gala).
With red carpet events, come red carpet outfits. And these involve gowns and ensembles suitable for accommodating a growing baby bump.
The latest famous faces to tackle dressing their growing baby bump on the red carpet are Hilary Swank, 48, and Kaley Cuoco, 37, both who are expecting their first children. Twins for Swank with husband Philip Schneider and a girl for Cuoco with partner Tom Pelphrey.
The pair debuted their growing bumps on the red carpet at the Golden Globes 2023 dressed in minimalist gowns sporting flattering empire lines and plenty of space for their babies.
They follow in the footsteps of Blake Lively, who revealed that she and Ryan Reynolds are expecting their fourth child together as she attended the Forbes Power Women’s Summit.
The actor, 35, best known for the much-loved Gossip Girl, proudly placed her hand on her bump at the 10th annual event in New York where she was honoured, wearing a Valentino sheer gold long-sleeve mini dress, complete with encrusted sequins. She paired this with chunky cream platform heels, larger than life hoops and a signature Lively headband.
Lively and Reynolds, married since 2012, already share daughters James, seven, Inez, five and Betty, two.
Not the first celeb to share the news of an expanding family in this way, Zawe Ashton revealed that she and Tom Hiddleston are expecting their first child together as she attended the Mr. Malcolm's List premiere in New York in June.
The actor, who is known for her roles in Fresh Meat and Netflix horror thriller film Velvet Buzzsaw, opted for an empire-line dress by Sabina Bilenko Couture to highlight her growing baby bump.
Rihanna, who gave birth to her first child in May 2022, spent the five months since she announced her pregnancy with A$AP Rocky in January 2022 showing off her burgeoning baby bump with a variety of midriff-baring styles on the street and red carpet, changing the way celebrities look at pregnancy dressing.
