Plus-size model has the perfect response for body-shamer who said she was too fat to wear a crop top
Plus-size model Felicity Hayward had the perfect comeback after a woman mocked her for wearing a crop top.
The 29-year-old revealed via social media that the unnamed woman laughed at her, as she walked down the street in a cold-shoulder top and cycling shorts.
In response, Felicity – who has worked for major brands including Missguided and L’Oreal – shared a snap of her seriously covetable outfit on Instagram to encourage others to dress exactly how they please.
Alongside the image, she wrote [sic]: “To the older woman who just walked past me in the street whilst I was wearing this outfit, laughed and shouted in my face ‘YOU’RE TOO FAT TO BE WEARING THOSE CLOTHES’ you picked on the wrong babe to try and hurt.”

“Just because you don’t have the confidence to be unapologetically yourself, don’t take your bitter insecurities out on others. I’m not saying I didn’t get mad, I really did and the whole street heard me cuss you out, but you looked like someone’s mother, you should have known better.”
She then went on to raise awareness of the lasting impact body-shaming can have upon young women.
“You never know what someone has gone through to look the way they are and I’m glad you tried to hurt me rather than a young girl with severe insecurities,” the model told her followers. “What if you shouted at a girl who had just lost a father, a sister and gained weight due to grief, had polycystic ovaries or another medical condition which caused her to be that size? Aside from that my height, weight and shape is not an offence, it’s my prerogative.”
And fans flocked to the social media platform to thank the model for her inspiring words.
One follower wrote [sic]: “You are the kind of person we need in this generation! I hope my daughter looks up to empowering women like yourself.”
While another commented, “I don’t usually comment on these things but I would just like to say you are a true inspiration to women all ages and an amazing positive role model for young girls. I wish there had been a role model like you when I was younger.”
Felicity then took the opportunity to encourage other plus-size women to embrace their bodies and wear whatever they want this summer.

“To all my JUICY BABES out there wanting to wear crop tops, shorts as it’s SUMMER, be you boo and rock whatever the hell you like. Don’t let anyone else try destroy your happiness.”
Can we get an Amen?
But it’s not the first time the model has spoken out against body-shaming. Earlier this month, the model revealed that she was mocked while sunbathing on the beach in a bikini.

In response, she shared a thong bikini-clad image of herself with the caption: “To the couple sitting on the beach making fun, laughing and taking photos of me and my friends enjoying our holiday in lil bikinis, I will stand in front of you for 15 mins and take this banging photo because my body is just as worthy as yours sweetie.”
“Comparison is the stealer of joy, so I’m gonna live my best life just like this and you can carry on dealing with your own insecurities #SelfLoveBringsBeauty.”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
