A plane passenger used his toes to browse inflight TV and Twitter isn't impressed

A famous clip of supermodel Naomi Campbell meticulously cleaning her aeroplane seat has been doing the rounds on social media this week - so we can’t help but wonder how she’d feel about one passenger’s divisive plane habits.

Instead of using their hands to navigate the inflight television (or the remote for that matter), an anonymous flyer was filmed using his bare feet to swipe through the film options.

A fellow passenger filmed the unusual method and sent it to their friend, Alafair Burke, who posted the clip on Twitter alongside the caption: “My friend who doesn’t have twitter sent this from her flight. It belongs on Twitter.”

She added, “The photographer confirms that she saw him walk on and off the plane, carrying his own bag. He just likes to watch TV with his bare feet.”

The post soon went viral garnering over 17,000 retweets 83,000 likes with a number of social media users understandably disturbed.

“Just another confirmation of how disgusting people are,” one wrote.

Another commented, “Y’all don’t bathe your feet so this is violence.”

While others used the now-viral clip to further demonstrate why they carry out a serious cleaning routine before take-off.

“This is why my wife wipes down everything down at her seat,” one commented. “Including the screen!”

“Next flight, I will bring a small clorox + febreeze + lyson wipes, all 3 on 1, to clean that screen,” a second user vowed. “I don't care if it's not the same seat number or the screen is on the top of the seat.”

But one Twitter user had to admit that the passenger’s ability to choose a film using solely their feet was rather impressive - suggesting that they may have in fact done it on previous flights.

“He is clearly practiced at this too, look how adept he is,” they commented.

Though we’re not necessarily safe from germs even if we do ban fellow passengers from whipping off their socks mid-flight, as one Twitter user reminded us that our hands aren’t exactly much cleaner.

“You fools, you nincompoops, for believing our finders are more sanitary than their feet,” he wrote. “This human being was just in an airport, nothing about them in clean.”

Yep, we may not bother going on holiday this summer after all...
