You can count on Pink to sprinkle a little body positivity when it’s needed. The 37-year-old mum-of-two just delivered a dollop of realness to all women, particularly other new mums who are learning to love their new post-baby bodies.

In a candid, straight-talking Instagram snap, the popstar who gave birth to her second child, a son, Jameson Moon, in December penned an empowering message urging women to stay off the scales.

“Would you believe I’m 160 pounds and five-foot-three-inches tall?” she wrote alongside an image of her looking strong and healthy at the gym. “By ‘regular standards’ that makes me obese. I know I’m not at my goal or anywhere near it after baby two, but dammit I don’t feel obese. The only thing I’m feeling is myself.”

The mum, who also has a daughter, Willow, five, then added a string of hashtags to her post including #strongismygoal, #feelingmyself #GIJaneismyWCW.

Unsurprisingly her inspirational post hit home quickly racking up 243K likes and nearly 8,000 comments from fans praising the So what? singer on her powerful message.

“Thank you for your encouraging words!,” one woman wrote. “I have a 12 week old daughter and my body is far from what i expected to be at this time… I dont like the image in the mirror but i do love my body because this made a little miracle possible! Go girl, you are amazing!”

“I had baby number 2 in December also,” added another woman. “I’m also 5’3 and 160. Not at goal. But I eat healthy, I’m maxing out in my workouts and feeling good. Thanks for the reminder, that not everyone losing the baby weight right away! #throwingthescaleaway.”

Others commented that Pink’s post had given them the body confidence boost they needed.

“You have no idea how much this encouraged me,” one woman wrote. “I am also 5’3 and 150 and I’ve struggled and struggled. It looks different on everyone and that’s ok. You are beautiful and thank you being REAL in a world of so much fake.”

Pink’s body positive post comes after Rebekah Vardy recently opened up about the pressure new mums face to slip back into their pre-pregnancy shape and the upset she witnessed at the hands of cruel Twitter trolls who criticised her post-baby body after she gave birth to her son, Finley in January.

The wife of Leicester and England footballer Jamie Vardy spoke candidly about how hurtful she found the online abuse, despite admitting that she felt more “resilient” after giving birth to her fourth child.

“After having a baby your hormones are raging, the last thing you want to feel is pressurised and upset,” she told The Sun.

“People were on Twitter saying that my thighs were fat, saying they couldn’t believe Jamie was with me because I was so huge. I’d just given birth, I looked normal. And I have had lots of abuse since then,” she continued.

While many women may have decided to cover up and hide away after receiving hurtful comments about their body, Rebekah, 34, had an altogether more feisty response to the shamers. Just three months after giving birth to Finley, the mum-of-four decided to proudly pose in her underwear to show off her post-baby body.

“I have a wobbly tummy, bigger legs, wrinkled skin and stretch marks, just like any woman does when she’s had a baby,” she said.

“I think I look pretty good for a woman who gave birth in January and Jamie thinks so too,” she continued.

“I’m proud of what my body has achieved. I carried all my children for nine months and my body changed constantly to provide for them.”

And Rebekah also had some comforting words for other mums feeling the pressure to spring back into their pre-baby skinny jeans, saying she finds it annoying that some celebrity mums claim their baby weight just dropped off.

“There is so much unrealistic pressure on women these days to get their figures back overnight because there are so many women in the public eye who seem to be able to do that.”

“I get annoyed when I hear celebrities say the weight just dropped off. Maybe for a tiny few it does, but for most of us it doesn’t.”

Like Pink, Rebekah wanted to encourage other women to learn to love and appreciate the effects pregnancy and birth has had on their bodies and be honest and open about the subject.

The mum-of-four also had something to say about the trend to get a tummy tuck at the same time as a caesarean calling it “not natural.”

“What is natural is doing what I do – wearing plenty of good make-up, a much bigger bra and a pair of Spanx,” she continued.
