People are freaking out that Victoria's Secret is selling velvet panties
Victoria’s Secret has women all over the world excited this week. No, the company isn’t bringing back swimwear (R.I.P.) nor has it cast Ashley Graham in the annual fashion show. What Victoria’s Secret did is almost as good, according to the hundreds of thousands social media users who are freaking out: They released velvet panties. Cue the goosebumps.
The news broke when a Victoria’s Secret employee posted a photo on Twitter of velvet underwear. There were three thongs, in black, blue, and red. They each had an elastic waistband emblazoned with Victoria’s Secret’s signature “PINK” logo. The panties shone in the snap, highlighting their velvety soft texture.

“We got velvet panties AND IM DECEASED,” she captioned the pic. And the internet went wild. The photo has been retweeted more than 50 thousand times, with 135,000 likes and 1,200 comments. When so many people inquired, she added, “I work at pink and we got them in shipment today! Our website updates on Thursday though so keep an eye out!”
On Monday, @vspink officially announced the drop on Instagram.

Responses have ranged from swooning to confused to curious to mad (but only from the people who just left the mall and skipped Victoria’s Secret without knowing). “I’m going to have to go get some ASAP lol,” one follower wrote.

Not entirely sure if that is good or bad. Either way, the panties are adorable and totally on trend, since velvet is all the rage these days.
Victoria’s Secret also has new velvet items in their Dream Angels collection, and those are already available online. However, they aren’t completely velvet, like the PINK pieces.
