Parents Hand Out Goodie Bags To Plane Passengers In Case Their Twin Babies Kick-Off

Forget snakes on a plane, nothing brings on the new parent fear quicker than the thought of taking babies on a plane. Not only do you have the prospect of a potentially squirming, squawking, suitably grumpy baby to contend with, but you also have to deal with the eye rolling of other passengers who are thoroughly cheesed off that your crying baby is ruining their in flight experience. Been there, done that, got the ‘never again’ badge to prove it.
But one family who were flying their 18-month-old twins for the first time came up with a genius idea to ensure there were no hard feelings if their little ones kicked off. As a sort of sweetener insurance policy, the parents handed out sweet little goodie bags to other passengers containing chocolate and earplugs as a way of apology for any tricky in-flight behaviour.
“Hello! Our names are Ashley & Abby,” an accompanying note inside the goodie bags read. “We’re twins, we just turned 18 months and this is our first time on an airplane!
“We are heading to FL [Florida] to see Grandma & Grandpa, and Mommy & Daddy said something about a mouse. We’ll try to keep our cool, but in case we decide to get crazy, we’ve provided a sweet treat and some earplugs for your enjoyment. Thank you for understanding and enjoy your flight!”

The cute little note was uploaded to Love What Matters by Christina Galese, who was a passenger on the twins’ flight.
“As I was boarding a flight from EWR [Newark Liberty International Airport] to Orlando today, I noticed most people pass up two rows of seats about half way down the plane,” she wrote in the Facebook post.
“As I got closer, I found one row with a father and his 18-month-old daughter and the other row with his wife and the daughter’s twin. Because I don’t mind children (and knew I had my headphones for later on, just in case) I opted for the window seat next to the father and one of the twins. The rest of the passengers boarded and the middle seat in between us was eventually occupied.”
“Before the flight took off, the parents passed around these goodie bags to the other passengers around them,” she continued. “Such a thoughtful, simple act of kindness that I am so happy to have experienced.”

But it turns out, the twins parents needn’t have gone to all the effort, because according to Christina, they were “the most adorable and well-behaved little girls ever”
Since sharing the post has been liked over 19K times and received over 400 comments.
“I wish I had thought of this! It’s an absolute adorable way to remind people to be patient with babies in a very “sweet” way! The ear plugs were perfect,” wrote one mum.
But while many parents thought the goodie bags were a really cute idea, it did spark a debate with other parents who felt the gesture wasn’t really necessary.
“Parents should never have to apologise for little ones. We were all 18 months at one time,” one woman commented.
“It’s sad that parents have to pretty much apologise for their children’s existence, these days. Children are children. They exist and are a pivotal part of society. Get over it.”
