We were truly lost for words last week when Marks & Spencer revealed the launch of its pink Prosecco Easter egg, and were genuinely convinced that nothing could really top that.
And then Lidl launched a show-stopping 'Ginsecco' Easter egg – which combines chocolate, gin and Prosecco in one egg.
A first for any supermarket, the Easter egg hit Lidl stores this week with a price tag of £12.99.
Made from milk chocolate, the Easter egg is a real sight to behold – looking sculpture-esque with a hollowed out centre and smooth exterior.
Almost too pretty to eat (almost), the 'Golden Sculpture Egg' is made from solid Belgian milk chocolate and decorated with sparkly gold detailing, featuring a inner ledge that rests three delectable golden Ginsecco eggs. Yum.
These eggs are where the Prosecco, gin and chocolate combine, in the form of a creamy, delicious and super boozy ganache.
The egg was inspired by the nation's two favourite tipples of gin and Prosecco, with Ginsecco itself actually dubbed to be one of 2019's key drinks trends, according to Urban Spirit.
Meanwhile, M&S' pink 'Proseggo' Easter egg is very much on store shelves, and can be picked up for merely a fiver. Just like the Ginsecco egg, the Proseggo egg is a real beauty. It comes in a striking shade of pink, and features elegant swirl detailing on the outer shell.
While it's made from milk chocolate, the egg has been infused with raspberry, blackcurrant, and – of course – a whole lot of Prosecco.
We can't wait to inhale these generously boozy eggs this Easter!
