Not quite Vogue: Meghan Markle gets her glam on for Good Housekeeping
Meghan Markle has joined potential future sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge in the magazine market. Yet unlike Kate’s Vogue cover, Meghan hasn’t waited for a major fashion publication to approach her.
The 35-year-old girlfriend of Prince Harry has revealed her love of cooking and fashion secrets in a new interview with Good Housekeeping.
A sunny photoshoot sees the star of Suits in a number of simple looks including a stand-out white summer dress.
She is also seen on board a yacht in a stripy dress and leopard print trainers.
Meghan, who has been dating Harry for the past ten months, talks about how a “perfectly roasted chicken” is the way to impress friends and family.
She opens up about her workwear wardrobe, saying: “Personally, I love cropped pants in vegan leather, a great fitted blazer and a button-down shirt.”
Meghan’s style is now so influential that she has sparked a 67% rise in searches for vegan leather trousers, according to retailer Lyst.
The royal insider also spoke about the perfect travel outfit. (She should know considering her frequent trips from Toronto to London.)
“There are certain things I’ve learned that make you look a bit more polished,” she says. “I dress monochromatically… some really great comfy trousers, a comfortable top, the black blazer, something like that. Just so you look refined.”
The interview was first published in the States last August – just before Harry and Meghan started dating – and is now being reprinted in the UK version.
You can read the full conversation in Good Housekeeping‘s June 2017 issue.
