A closer look at the engagement ring Brooklyn Beckham picked out for fiancée, Nicola Peltz
Brooklyn Beckham and girlfriend, Nicola Peltz announced their engagement this week after nine months of dating.
The pair shared their good news on Instagram by posting a sweet snap of themselves posing in the Cotswolds countryside.
“Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes,” Beckham, 21, wrote.
“I am the luckiest man in the world. I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day. I love you baby.”
The couple - who have spent the coronavirus pandemic living together in New York City - returned to the UK recently to celebrate Harper Beckham’s 7th birthday as well as share their news with the Beckham clan.

The ring, which can be seen in the photo they shared, is an emerald-cut diamond solitaire. Peltz, 25, paired it with a matching diamond bracelet in the Instagram post.
The popular style of ring has been in favour since the 1920s, but has recently had a revival with the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce opting to wear similar cuts.
In the past, both Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor selected the emerald-cut shape - a real testament to its classic elegance.
It’s likely that Beckham took some inspiration from his mum, Victoria Beckham, who has numerous engagement rings - as you do when you’re VB - some of which are emerald cut.
The 21-year-old went one step further with his ring decision and placed the stone on a diamond-encrusted band. Again, this style hints towards Victoria Beckham’s engagement ring.

Many fans were surprised by the engagement news from the oldest of the Beckham children, commenting on how he still feels very young to be tying the knot.
“Me googling how old Brooklyn Beckham is, to make sure 20 years of my life didn’t go by while I blinked 2 seconds ago,” one confused person wrote.
David and Victoria Beckham were relatively young when they got married, at 25 and 24 respectively, so perhaps their offspring have been inspired by the pair’s 21-year marriage.
The photo, which has been shared across numerous Instagram accounts, including Victoria Beckham’s - was taken by quite an unlikely photographer, Harper.

The news that Harper took the photo was shared by Peltz in a caption that read: “You’ve made me the luckiest girl in the world. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life by your side. your love is the most precious gift. I love you so so much baby and thank you harper for this pic.”
No more information about the engagement has been released yet, so we’re not sure whether a Beckham wedding is imminent or not, but the pair have certainly got a lot to look forward to in the coming years.
