Mum puts breast milk in school bake sale brownies, Internet loses it

A mum has sent the Internet into meltdown after admitting to using her breast milk in the brownies she baked for the school’s cake sale.

The post, written by the anonymous mum, was screen-grabbed and shared by the Facebook page Sanctimommy.

“I need some advice,” the mum had written. “I made brownies for my s [son’s] school bake sale that had breast milk in them.”

“I didn’t have time to run to the store and didn’t think it was a big deal (some of those kids could use the nutrition let’s be honest). And it wasn’t even that much.”

The mum went on to say that one of the other mum’s had found out about the breast milk brownies and was “blowing it way out of proportion.”

She finished her post by asking for advice on what to do.

Unsurprisingly the post has sparked outrage from some about the mum’s unusual choice of ingredient.

“Honestly this is actually a damn near criminal offence! Breast milk, like blood or semen, can carry diseases, which is why legit donation services screen the milk before passing it along to mums and their babies,” one woman wrote.

“This is why schools specify STORE BOUGHT baked goods these days!” added another.

“She’s surprised no one wanted bodily fluids in their brownies. How weird?,” another user commented.

Other people weren’t quite so scathing and confessed to being a little curious about using breast milk as a brownie ingredient.

“Not gonna lie, I’m kinda curious if that would work. And a little impressed with her pumping skills. And I kinda wanna prank people and do this,” one user wrote.

Other users shared similar stories of mums using breast milk for baking.

“This is hilarious. My son was sick when he was a newborn and was in the NICU for 6 weeks. I brought the nurses goodies occasionally, but they informed me they couldn’t accept baked goods because a mum fed them all brownies made with her breast milk without their consent or knowledge,” one mum shared.

One woman even made reference to the story we reported on earlier this month about the mum who admitted to having sex while breastfeeding.

“Is she friends with the mum who YouTubed that she had sex while nursing?,” she wrote.
