Model Tess Holliday Does A Gisele, Shares Multitasking Mum Breastfeeding Photo

When a baby’s got to eat, he’s got to eat. And if that means feeding him while you’re slap bang in the middle of getting glammed up for a photo-shoot, then so be it.
Earlier this week, plus size model, Tess Holliday took to Instagram to share an intimate snap capturing that exact scenario. In an image which echoes a similar iconic shot of supermodel Gisele Bundchen way back in 2013, the 31-year-old is seen breastfeeding her one-month old son, Bowie while a stylist and make-up artist get her photo-shoot ready.
The model was preparing to shoot her latest instalment for Penningtons, the brand she designs plus-size clothing for, when the intimate moment was captured by fiancé, Nick Holliday.
“[Nick] captured this photo of me getting ready yesterday to shoot the next installment of my #mblmxtess @penningtons collection, and it reminded me of @gisele’s iconic photo breastfeeding on set,” Tess captioned the image. “Working moms come in all shapes, sizes, colors & creeds!”

It isn’t the first time Tess has shared an image of her nursing her son in a bid to help normalise breastfeeding. Last week she uploaded an image of Tess breastfeeding Bowie at a table in what looks like a café or restaurant.
“My friend @jackiedunnsmith snapped this photo of me breastfeeding Bowie today & it makes my heart swell #normalizebreastfeeding #bowiejuniper,” the new mum captioned the image.

And last month the model posted another intimate photo of herself lying on a bed while feeding her newborn.
“I had to capture this moment because today was the first time I was successful at feeding lil Bowie laying down #normalizebreastfeeding #motherhoodrising,” she captioned the black and white image.
But the shot did draw some criticism from people who slammed the model for publicly sharing the intimate moment.
“Really? You are showing your nipple. We know it’s natural to breastfeed but please don’t show your nipples to the world!” wrote one Instagrammer.
But others were quick to jump to Tess’ defence.
“She is not showing her nipple. Her beautiful child is feeding on it. Now her areola might be showing but hey she can’t control that. If you do not like what you see. Move on and don’t follow her,” one defender wrote.
And the body-positive activist also had her fiancé fighting her public breastfeeding corner.
“Don’t let anyone make you feel bad about feeding your child, wherever that may be,” Nick wrote next to an image of their son breastfeeding. “And for the women out there who can’t breastfeed, don’t let anyone make you feel bad about that either.”
That’s one way to shut down the haters.
