The new mum said she was grateful to have been “supported by such incredible nurses, doctors and midwives throughout the whole process” of childbirth.
And went on to add how glad she was to have Taylor present for the birth, particularly as she gave birth during the coronavirus pandemic.
“I felt really lucky to have him there holding my hand for that special moment. It was incredible,” she continued.
She added: “When I first saw her, I cried. I remember thinking, ‘Oh my God, this is really real’.
“Even though you’ve been carrying a baby for nine months, you still can’t quite believe it until you meet her.
“I definitely felt a surge of love in that moment.”

The couple certainly seem to be enjoying new parenthood.
Mackintosh has previously revealed she has had the best four weeks of her life after welcoming her baby daughter.
Last month, the new mum shared her first social media picture of the newborn, in which she can be seen holding the baby as her husband Hugo Taylor gently touches his daughter’s hand.
“The first four weeks of your life have been the best four weeks of mine,” she wrote in the accompanying caption.
“Thank you for making me a Mummy darling girl.”

After announcing her pregnancy back in November, the former reality TV star had been keeping fans updated on her journey to motherhood via her Instagram account, opening up about the challenges and experiences she’s faced along the way.
Earlier this year she was praised for sharing a post about the less glamorous side of pregnancy, including bladder leaks and water retention, something many pregnant women could relate to.
Despite her challenges, she said that growing a human “feels like a miracle”.
She also discussed her fears about giving birth amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“With a little under 8 weeks to go until our daughter is due to arrive, the situation the world finds itself in with Coronavirus is very much a concern,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Even though I’m fully aware that worrying gets you nowhere, it’s understandable to be anxious about my baby arriving during this time, our natural instinct is to protect!”
Shortly before giving birth Mackintosh announced she was taking a break from Instagram and wrote: “Signing off for a while – looking back on the last nine months, despite it’s challenges, it’s been a real blessing.
“The unwavering support I’ve had from you all as a community has been such a comfort to me.
