Each season we see bigger strides in gender fluid fashion. Rigid ‘menswear’ and ‘womenswear’ shows no longer exist, plus, more and more unisex designs are hitting the catwalks.

Well, the latest Milan Fashion Week Men’s collections seem to blur the lines even more than usual.

Alberta Ferretti kicked off the season with matching designs being worn by both the male and female models. The bright garments featured an array of feminine coloured jumpers and lace trousers that played with gender norms.

However, the biggest trend to occur so far has to be the ‘man bag’. The handbag has been every women’s favourite accessory for decades, but now it seems we’re going to see men adopt the garment too.

It featured heavily on the catwalks and in several different styles. Salvatore Ferragamo previewed large shopper bags, while Versace went for full-on graphic numbers, that you could most definitely share with a female companion.

Prada also took a step towards gender neutral dressing, their 70s vibes show saw clutch bags, statement necklaces and suits for both men and women head down the catwalk.

The menswear itself also had a more genderless feel. Dolce & Gabbana created patterned long tunic dresses and Dsquared reworked skirts by featuring them over trousers, creating the perfect mix of masculine and feminine.
