During her eight year ‘reign’ in the White House, Michelle Obama has achieved a staggering amount. She’s fought for the right that every girl has to an education, she’s dined with world leaders, she’s avoided any romantic scandal and she’s tackled some of the most controversial issues in American history.
In a nutshell, the mum-of-two’s taken the role of the President’s wife to the next level and become an idol for women globally.
But last night she also reminded the world that she’s redefined what the role of the FLOTUS can mean in terms of style.
Hosting her 13th, and final, state dinner, Michelle almost eclipsed her husband in a dazzling rose gold chainmail dress - one of the most wow-factor dresses she’s worn during her time ‘in office’.

The 52-year-old chose the gown carefully - a number by Italian luxe label Atelier Versace, it was the perfect frock to welcome the country’s prime minister and his wife in.
It’s by no means the first time Michelle’s been so considerate of her style choice. She wore a strapless yellow Naeem Khan to host the Indian prime minister, a blue gown by Korean designer Doo-Ri Chung to host the South Korean prime minister and a purple Tadashi Shoji ensemble in honour of the Japanese prime minister.
Tuesday’s guest list included a varied guest list, including celebrities, White House staff, senior administration officials, journalists and others, making it seem like the President and his wife were taking the opportunity to say ‘thank you’.
