Meghan Markle wears Princess Diana's jewellery for Smart Works fashion launch

On Thursday Meghan Markle made her first official engagement since the birth of her four month old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
The 38-year-old arrived at John Lewis on Oxford Street for the highly anticipated launch of her fashion collection, in collaboration with Smart Works.
Meghan, who is patron of the charity that helps women find work, created a five piece collection full of workwear essentials with leading fashion brands, John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, Jigsaw and Mischa Nonoo.
The duchess arrived looking ready for business wearing two items from the new collection. A smart white shirt, which was designed by her friend Misha Nonoo (£125) and a pair of sleek black trousers by Jigsaw (£120).
The royal also poignantly accessorised the outfit with jewellery that had once belonged to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana.

Meghan wore a pair of butterfly earrings, which Diana had previously worn during a royal tour of Canada in 1986. She also sported a gold cuff with two statement gems that Diana wore in 1990.
It wasn’t the first time Meghan had been seen in the items of jewellery. She first debuted the accessories during the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal tour of Sydney back in October 2018.

Meghan accessorised with multiple other gold bangles for a modern aesthetic, as well as a brown Ralph Lauren belt and matching court shoes.
