Meghan Markle wears £2,295 Gucci dress behind-the-scenes for Vogue's September issue
Meghan Markle is the very first guest editor of British Vogue’s iconic September issue, titled “Forces for Change”.
The announcement was made on the Sussex’s Instagram account on Sunday evening, the caption revealing: “For the past seven months, the Duchess has curated the content with British Vogue's Editor-in-Chief Edward Enninful to create an issue that highlights the power of the collective.”
Instead of gracing the cover herself, Meghan handpicked 15 women “from all walks of life, each driving impact and raising the bar for equality, kindness, justice and open mindedness.”
The line-up includes models Adwoa Aboah and Adut Akech, actresses’ Jane Fonda, Gemma Chan and Salma Hayek, as well as New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, and climate change activist, Greta Thunberg.
We were, however, given a glimpse of Meghan working behind-the-scenes. Kensington Palace releasing an image of the 37-year-old looking through rails of clothes at the Smart Works London office, an organisation that Meghan became Patron of in January.
In the snapshot, Meghan, whose love for fashion is well-known, is seen wearing an ivory tweed dress embellished with a large bow and floral brooch from Gucci’s Resort 2019 collection.
The prim and proper dress is currently available to purchase for £2,295 on MyTheresa in all sizes from 6 to 18. The retailers explain: “this dress from Gucci references the label's penchant for ladylike silhouettes with a certain vintage charm.”
Tweed has long been a style staple for British royals, championed over the years by the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Diana and The Queen.
