Meghan and Harry 'very excited' to set up their own charity foundation
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are “very excited” to set up their own charitable foundation later this year, following their split from their joint initiative with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Meghan and Harry plan to set up their own organisation by the end of the year, while Kate and William remain with The Royal Foundation.
Sources deny any rumours of a rift between the couples, saying the decision was taken to "better align their charitable activity with their new households.”
The Sussexes separated from their joint office with the Cambridges earlier this year, setting up a new team under Buckingham Palace.
With William second-in-line to the throne and set to take over his father’s role as Prince of Wales in future, the couples are on “divergent paths.”
With Harry being sixth-in-line to the throne, he and Meghan have much more freedom to pursue different types of charity projects.

A source told Harper’s Bazaar US: “This allows the Sussexes to do things exactly how they want.
"Their operating style is very different to the Cambridges and so having their own space to think as big as they like, working on a global scale, is perfect for them."
Another source told them: "This is their chance to stamp their own personality on their charitable work.”
“Not only will their new foundation stand the test of time, but it will allow them to do some very ambitious things. Their charity will provide them with an opportunity to create something that will be their defining work—and it’s entirely theirs.”

While there is currently no name for Meghan and Harry’s new foundation, they are looking to establish it by the end of 2019.
But the Royal Foundation have not ruled out them working together with William and Kate in the future, including on the Heads Together mental health campaign.
The couples only appeared once together at the Royal Foundation’s first Q&A forum in February 2018, which led to them being dubbed ‘The Fab Four.’
Brothers William, 36, and Harry, 34, set up the Royal Foundation in 2009 to house all of their charitable ventures, including Heads Together, the Invictus Games and The Endeavour Fund.
Kate, 37, joined the venture when she became the Duchess of Cambridge in 2011, as did Meghan, 37, when she married Prince Harry last year.
