Mary Berry's bolognese recipe has caused some serious upset
Mary Berry is a face you can trust. Usually.
Yet it seems that the baking maestro’s dinner-making skills have little to be desired.
On her BBC2 show, Mary Berry Everyday, the cook prepared a delicious dish of bolognese “with a special twist.”
It was all going well until Mary decided to add wine (white if you’re wondering) and cream, saying: “My secret is to make it even richer by adding double cream. It just enriches it.”
Viewers were left distraught at these unusual additions with people tweeting that they were “horrified.”
Shocked and appalled about Mary Berry adding double cream to her bolognese.

I love Mary Berry, but white wine in a bolognese sauce? No. It has to be red.

However, it has since been revealed that this is in fact how Italians make bolognese with an old Italian cookbook revealing the same recipe. (And who are we to argue with the masters of food?)
White wine and cream in a well-used recipe from book of Italian cooking. Very good it is, too! #MaryBerry #spagbol pic.twitter.com/K10QzUO4v4

In fact, Italy actually has an official recipe for bolognese that was concocted back in 1982 by the Italian Academy of Cooking. The full ingredients list includes beef, pancetta, onions, carrots, celery, tomato paste and – you guessed it – white wine and milk.
Sorry haters but Mary Berry reigns supreme once again.
