Marks & Spencer's new £35 jumper is a fashion-editor favourite
It's Fair Isle jumper season, aka our favourite season, and we're enjoying seeing the new styles landing in our favourite shops, ready for us to live in all autumn/winter.
The fashion editor's go-to knit in the colder months, teamed with everything from wide-leg jeans and leather trousers to satin skirts and slip dresses, we love wearing ours under tailored coats for that Claudia-Winkleman-on-The-Traitors, heritage chic vibe.
The luxury likes of Scottish cashmere brands Brora, Johnstons of Elgin and so on may be forever top of our Christmas lists, but for more affordable Fair Isle jumpers, good old Marks & Spencer always come through.
This year is no exception, with the latest style to catch our attention already flying off the shelves and tagged as both 'Popular' and 'Selling Fast' on the M&S website. We're talking about the new-in Cloud Yard Fair Isle Roll Neck Jumper, £35, with its timeless design and neutral colour palette.
M&S' other new Fair Isle knit, also £35 but in a chocolate brown and cream colourway, is also proving popular (and we also love it in red). That style may be in the colour of the season, but we love the snuggly roll neck of the latest drop, so we're just going to have to take both.
Our other tip? Don't forget the lads' section. 'I personally will always buy from menswear,' Claudia's stylist Sinead McKeefry told us last winter, and sure enough, there are some gems to be found right now (case in point: this £30 crew jumper with a striped Fair Isle pattern that looks much more expensive).
