Shoppers rush to buy M&S bubbly infused with 22-carat gold leaf: 'Want it now'

The high-street favourite is always hitting it out the park when it comes to festive food and M&S bubbly, and now they’ve struck gold (literally).
Marks & Spencer (M&S) has launched a new bubbly that contains edible gold leaf, and shoppers are rushing to get their hands on the "Christmas must-have".
Aptly named 'Marks and Sparkle', the bottle of fizz is infused with glittering flakes of edible 22-carat gold leaf, how’s that for ‘sparkling’ wine?
‘Marks & Sparkle’ is priced at £60 for a case of six, making it just £10 per bottle and perfect for adding to your Christmas tipple menu.

“Perfect as an aperitif with nibbles” says M&S, the fizz contains crisp citrusy notes of pear and lemon, with a hint of peach liqueur.
The gold-infused bubbly went on sale in stores and online earlier this week and according to M&S, and is already a hit with fans after the supermarket said that shoppers are snapping up a bottle every 30 seconds across its 1,000 stores.
“It’s delicious,” one shopper declared on Instagram.

“Can’t wait to try,” wrote another, whilst another demanded: “I want this now”.
If you’ve not already stocked up for yourself, the fizz makes an ideal gift, too. Not only does it taste and look fantastic, the ‘Marks & Sparkle’ price point makes it all the more easy to part with.
“I bought one for my son's teacher's birthday present and for £10 it looks beautiful,” said one fan on Instagram.
M&S has clearly got creating the ideal Christmas beverage down to a tee. Last year’s light-up snow globe gin was a huge hit with shoppers, so much so that the department store has also brought the clementine-flavoured liqueur back for 2022.
