Madonna sparks confusion with bizarre topless snap on Instagram
In a series of throwbacks, Madonna took to Instagram yesterday to share a nostalgic snap of her younger self ‘drooling over a handbag’ with close friends.
And in a bizarre move, the singer decided to recreate the memory by posting a topless shot via the social media platform with nothing but a Louis Vuitton bag to conceal her modesty.
The 59-year-old captioned the newly-reinvented image: ‘Still drooling over a handbag…………….. @LouisVuitton #nofriends #lisbonisfar #werktodo #fashion.’
Sadly, the songstress didn’t have any friends to pose alongside her in the snap but made sure to (rather haphazardly) conceal her nipple with Instagram’s famous drawing tool.
And unsurprisingly, fans were baffled by the mum-of-six‘s latest post with many taking to the social media platform to criticise her nude snap.
One follower commented, “Don’t think your kids would be proud of you posting this kinda stuff!!”
While another questioned whether or not she has recently undergone further cosmetic surgery: “What’s happened to your face??”
But many of her fans praised the singer for her carefree attitude, as one user wrote: “If you don’t like it, look away – I like it, why shouldn’t she do it? Why should she stop doing what she was doing always? I always loved her for breaking rules. Go on!!!”
While another took to the social media platform to write: “Why are people so offended by this? Where is it written that people over fifty-something should not show who they are? Why is madonna supposed to stop being herself? @madonna show your breast, your legs, your thoughts and Ideas, and NEVER stop being who you are!”
One thing is for certain, the highly-debated snap has got fans talking and has already garnered over 164,000 likes as a consequence.
