Were Little Mix's One Love Manchester outfits 'disrespectful'?
Little Mix have come under fire for their “provocative” outfits at the One Love Manchester concert on Sunday 4 June.
The girl group’s coordinating stage looks became the subject of debate on Twitter during their performance, with some users slating their clothing as “disrespectful”.
The foursome wore monochrome, leather ensembles, which didn’t cover a whole lot of flesh and were called out as inappropriate for the young audience watching in the crowd and at home.
Personally found Little Mix’s skimpy outfits extremely disrespectful. #OneLoveMachester

I don’t understand why #LittleMix, who are adored by super youngsters feel the need to wear provocative outfits EVERYWHERE! #unnecessary

The phrase “dressed like strippers” was also Tweeted by a number of concert watchers – the same wording used to criticise Amanda Holden’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ semi-final outfit last week.
Why are Little Mix dressed like strippers? #OneLoveManchester

But not everyone was offended by the group’s wardrobe choice and a number of fans quickly came to their defence.
Social media users revealed that Little Mix had cancelled their appearance at the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ final in order to perform at One Love Manchester – and wore the same outfits they were set to wear on the ITV talent contest.
People criticizing Little Mix’s outfits but they were wearing the ones they were supposed to wear for BGT, WHICH THEY CANCELED TO BE THERE.

Others reminded naysayers that there were more important things than fashion choices at play.

And some pointed out that women should have the freedom to wear whatever the hell they want.
My family was commenting on the way little mix dressed today but I’m like ??? Let those queens wear what they want !!!!! GIRL POWER

Sadly, this isn’t the first time Little Mix have been slammed for their outfits. Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall were called “prostitutes” by some ‘X Factor’ viewers after a performance in October last year.
Former Spice Girls Mel C also said she thought Little Mix were too sexualised: “They are all gorgeous and great singers. But they weren’t sexy and it’s got more and more that way. I love them – but I just say, ‘Stay you’,” she told Sunday People.
“All young women want to look sexy and hot so I understand it’s hard. But I think it’s such a shame.”
