Lily James opens up about being bodyshamed
Lily James has opened up about the criticism she has faced in the media about her weight. The actress said that when she when she was promoting Cinderella, the press were particularly cruel.
"The press were saying I was a bad role model but I have always been healthy," she told GQ. "I eat! I do have a tiny waist and quite big hips so it looks in proportion, you know? I have an hourglass shape."
At the time, James hit back at online trolls, telling them she found the criticism "upsetting".
"On one hand it's upsetting, on the other hand it's just boring," she told The Huffington Post. "I mean why do women get pointed at for their bodies? This whole thing happened and I'm constantly having to justify myself. I'm healthy and I always have been."
The actress also revealed her shock to GQ that actresses are still being told to lose weight, saying it was "disheartening".
