Lady Gaga staged her own AMAs red carpet, paid homage to deceased designer Azzedine Alaïa
Lady Gaga isn’t one to do things by halves. So when she couldn’t attend the American Music Awards last night (as she is currently on her Joanne world tour) the singer created her very own red carpet instead.
In sartorial tribute to the late designer Azzedine Alaïa, who sadly passed away over the weekend, Lady Gaga donned two bodycon dresses by the couturier in a series of Instagram snaps.

The singer teamed the retro aesthetic with an 80s-inspired perm and copper-hued eyeshadow.

The singer then took to the stage in a sheer jumpsuit (with extreme Dolly Parton-inspired fringing) to perform The Cure which was streamed live to the audience at the AMAs.
And despite not being at the awards ceremony, Lady Gaga still managed to steal the show taking home the award for Favourite Pop/Rock Female Artist.
The 31-year-old told the audience: “Thank you so much. I have the best fans in the whole world. I am so lucky. You just remember that if you feel different or if you feel not understood, don’t you dare give up on who you are. You fight like hell for what you believe in. I love you.”
