What we know about Ivanka Trump and Karlie Kloss’s relationship
Karlie Kloss and Ivanka Trump are about to become sisters-in-law, but how close are the pair already? Karlie recently got engaged to Josh Kushner, the brother of Jared Kushner, Ivanka’s husband and senior White House advisor. When Ivanka congratulated Karlie on Instagram, she referred to the model as her “sister.”
"So, so happy for you and Josh!" Ivanka wrote. "I feel blessed to have you as a sister (!!!) Karlie and look forward to the happy memories we will create together as a family! ❤️"

Ivanka has long had a close relationship with Josh. Forbes reported in 2017 the two are so close, Josh calls Ivanka his sister rather than his sister-in-law. So calling Karlie her sister could simply come naturally to Ivanka.
Karlie and Ivanka have a shared passion for entrepreneurship. Ivanka ran her own fashion line for nearly a decade until she closed it this week, meanwhile Karlie balances a large number of projects including endorsement deals, her own YouTube channel, and a stint on Bill Nye Saves the World.
The Evening Standard reports the two, who have been friends since 2012, have mutual friends like Russian businesswoman Dasha Zhukova, who was married to billionaire Roman Abramovich, and Wendi Deng, who was married to Rupert Murdoch. Ivanka and Karlie both attended the U.S. Open with Zhukova in 2016.
But Josh and Karlie share different political beliefs than Jared and Ivanka; they are Democrats and did not vote for Donald Trump in 2016, despite the family connection. One of Josh’s businesses, Oscar, is a healthcare company built around the Affordable Care Act, which President Trump has vowed to end. The couple even attended the Women’s March after Trump’s inauguration.
Ivanka and Karlie have not been photographed together since their appearance at the U.S. Open. And the Evening Standard also reported Karlie refuses to discuss the Trump White House in interviews. So unless you’re part of the family, it’s impossible to know for sure how the two get along.
