Kim Kardashian says make-up artist was warned against working with her
Kim Kardashian has revealed her make-up artist was warned by his former agent not to work with her.
Kardashian, 41, posted a shot she 'loved' from the her recent Vogue US cover shoot on Instagram, but said that what she "loved the most" was being able to use Mario Dedivanovic.
The reality TV star uploaded an image featuring her bare shoulders and side profile, wearing a pair of gold Schiaparelli Haute Couture earrings, with her hair tightly in a large, braided bun, credited to hair stylist Chris Appleton, and dramatic black eyeliner.
Accompanied with this, she wrote, "I love this pic from my @voguemagazine cover shoot but what I love most is that i was able to use @makeupbymario and @chrisappleton1 to glam me.
"When Mario first started working with me his agent told him not to work w[ith] me anymore and working with a reality star would never ever land him a US Vogue Cover."

However, she added: "He said he would choose me over the cover and fired his agent. It might have taken us over a decade but I couldn't be more proud of my glam team who always show up for me. I love you guys!"
Ariel Tejada, aka Makeup by Ariel, her younger sister Kylie Jenner's make-up artist, commented: "This post is everything."
Starting out as a fragrance consultant at 17 at Sephora, Dedivanovic is now a much-in-demand celebrity makeup artist, having been Kardashians for more than a decade, even collaborating with her on her KKW beauty brand.
Kardashian revealed the images from her Vogue US shoot on social media last week, which showed her in an array of striking looks and and outfits, as well as some with her four children with estranged husband Kanye West: North, eight, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, two.
Many celeb friends and family commented their appreciation of the shots, including Khloe Kardashian with, "You better be a star!!!!!!" and "Queeeeennnn", Kylie Jenner with a crown emoji and Paris Hilton with, "So stunning! Congrats gorgeous!"

Dedivanovic also commented on Kardashian's post with raised hands and two hearts emojis, while Appleton said: "So proud of you Kim – the kindest person I know."
Her friend Stephanie Suganami Shepherd, known as Steph Shep, also wrote, "wow. I'm so happy for you. you work harder than anyone I know and somehow can balance being such an incredible momma and friend. I don't know how you do it all but you deserve it ALL !! this is such a beautiful story !!"
In the accompanying interview for the March issue, Kardashian spoke about how she has "chosen herself". She said, "For so long, I did what made other people happy.
“And I think in the last two years I decided, I’m going to make myself happy. And that feels really good.
“And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it’s important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy.
“I’ve chosen myself. I think it’s OK to choose you.
“My 40s are about being Team Me."

She said part of being 'Team Me' involved eating well, working out, having more fun, spending more time with her kids and the people who make her happy, putting her phone down, and unfollowing if she doesn't want to see something on Instagram.
Kardashian filed from divorce from West in February 2021, after being married since 2014. She is now reportedly dating US comedian Pete Davidson.

However, while the interview focused on her independence and big changes in her life, Kardashian and Vogue have also been under fire online for being accused of 'Blackfishing', copying black fashion for the cover, including by the well-known fashion watchdog Instagram account Diet Prada, which highlighted similarities from the shoot to images featuring Beyonce, Nina Simone and Naomi Campbell.
The caption to its post reads, "Kim and Vogue said 'Black History Month'.”
