Kensington Palace deny claims that Meghan and Harry are raising their baby gender fluid

Kensington Palace has denied claims that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to raise their baby gender fluid.

Speculation began after Vanity Fair reported last week that Meghan and Harry wanted to bring up their child gender-neutral.

A source is said to have told the magazine: “Meghan has been talking to some of her friends about the birth and how she and Harry plan to raise their baby. Her exact word was fluid.

“She said they plan to raise their child with a fluid approach to gender and they won’t be imposing any stereotypes.”

However Kensington Palace have refuted the claims, according to Hello! magazine. A palace spokesman said on Saturday: “This story is totally false.”

There’s no doubt gender-neutral parenting has been creating quite the buzz of late, but what exactly does it mean to raise a child gender-free?

In basic terms the parenting practice is about breaking away from traditional gender stereotypes children are often exposed to and instead allowing them to explore what they like to do, play with, wear.

Meghan and Harry are expecting their first child together in April and reportedly want to keep the sex of their child a surprise.

The couple will join the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at a reception at Buckingham Palace to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the investiture of the Prince of Wales on Tuesday.
