A look back at Kate Moss' early catwalks as her daughter Lila Grace joins her on the Fendi runway
Kate Moss’ daughter Lila Grace is following in her model mum’s footsteps as the pair walked their first catwalk together.
Proving the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, the mother/daughter duo hit the runway for Fendi’s spring/summer 2021 couture show during Paris Fashion Week.
Lila Grace Moss-Hack, headed down the catwalk first, in a stunning, sheer beaded caped gown over a bodysuit and it was hard not to be thrown right back to Moss’ early runway shows.
The 47-year-old followed shortly afterwards in a floor-length silver, satin dress and matching bolero with oversized grey chandelier earrings and the same slicked back hair as her daughter.
Afterwards, the pair also posed together in a perspex box.
Posing alongside each other in a confined space, Lila Grace proved that she has undoubtedly inherited her mother’s model genes.
The teenager made her catwalk debut for Miu Miu in October 2020, with “proud” mum Kate watching the live stream from home.
“Yeah, it was so emotional seeing Lila on the runway, it wasn’t emotional I was really nervous for her,” she told Vogue.
“I was sitting on the kitchen table... and when she came out we were like [gasp] she’s doing it, she’s doing it! I was so proud.”

The teenager’s first turn on the catwalk comes almost thirty years after her mum was asked to model for the Italian designer back in 1995.
And watching Lila Grace on the catwalk it is hard not to make comparisons to Moss’ early days in the fashion world.
Having been scouted age 14, while she was at an airport, Moss also made her runway debut at 18, the same as her daughter, when she headlined a Dolce & Gabbana showcase during Paris Fashion Week in 1992.
Although she has only just started making catwalk appearances, this is not Lila Grace’s first foray into the world of modelling.
She landed a beauty campaign as the face of Marc Jacobs in 2018, when she was just 16, and scored her first magazine cover in 2018 on the front of Dazed, which is owned by her father, Jefferson Hack.
Similarly Moss also landed her first cover for The Face aged just 16.
At the time of Lila Grace’s first campaign, Moss opened up about wanted to support her daughter in choosing to become a model, despite having some reservations after working in the fashion industry in the nineties.
“[Models these days] don't have to [pose topless] if they don't want to,” she told Megyn Kelly on her talk show.
“I wouldn’t let my daughter do it. I look at her now and she is 15 and to think I was going topless at her age, it's crazy.
“But it's up to her [if she wants to model]. I am leaving it up to her. I will support her obviously. I will be her momager! She can if she wants to. I will support her in anything she wants to do.”

Walking the catwalk together isn’t the mother/daughter’s first joint venture in the modelling world. Last month, they joined forces to launch a new sustainable clothing line, which they have called Eyescapes.
And back in 2016, the duo posed for Italian Vogue in a set of images shot by Moss’ former boyfriend photographer Mario Sorrenti.
Speaking about following in her mother’s modelling footsteps, Lila Grace told Allure: “I think because I’ve seen it since I was so small it’s always been an interest.
“When I did my first modelling shoot, I was like, ‘Yeah I enjoyed it. I want to do more.’ And I think it’s worked out really well.”
So it seems as well as having her mother’s model genes, Lila Grace’s career in fashion is following a similar trajectory to that of Moss.
If early indications are anything to go by it looks set to be equally as iconic.
