Duchess Kate wears shorts for first time since becoming a royal at King's Cup regatta
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge travelled to Cowes on the Isle of Wight on Thursday to host the annual King’s Cup regatta, which raised awareness and funds for numerous royal patronages.
Although Kate arrived in a trendy striped top, which was on sale for £81, the sport-loving duchess quickly changed for the sailing race, which put her head-to-head against her husband. Sporting an official King’s Cup grey waterproof jacket and blue cap, the 37-year-old also donned a pair of black shorts.
The ensemble marked the first time that the duchess had been seen in shorts since becoming a member of the Royal Family, the mum-of-three usually opting for leggings or skinny jeans for sporting events.
Kate’s leg’s were notably tanned, presumably from the Cambridge’s family holiday to Mustique in July. Kate’s look also complimented her husbands who was wearing the same get-up as shown in an image posted on Kensington Palace’s Twitter.

The main difference, however, was their footwear.
Kate, whose favourite trainer brands include Superga and New Balance, wore a pair of grey Cross Trainers by the latter brand.
