People were quick to point out that Kate's actually wearing the wrong kind of face mask
People are starting to freak out about the coronavirus—and that includes your favourite celebrities. Kate Hudson posted an Instagram photo this week as fears about the virus are escalating, showing herself wearing a face mask on an airplane.
'Travel. 2020. #😳,' Kate wrote alongside the image. However, people were quick to point out that Kate's face mask might not be the right type (and also that simply washing your hands frequently might be a more effective means of prevention).
'If you’re worried about corona..only the N95 mask will protect.you..that one wont do much...just saying.😮,' one person wrote. 'Boo there is a better mask. I’ll text you the name and the link safe travels babe. ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” another wrote. Another person simply wrote "Hand sanitizer...'

Just to be clear, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) does not currently recommend wearing a face mask to protect yourself against coronavirus, unless you're showing signs of the virus, or are a healthcare worker.
What you should do: Wash your hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds after going to the bathroom, before eating, or after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing, the CDC says. Alternately, using a hand sanitiser with at least 60% alcohol will work.
But, if you do decide to wear a mask to protect yourself against that or other forms of respiratory illnesses, it’s generally recommended by the CDC that you opt for an N95 mask. Kate was modelling what appears to be a surgical mask, which doesn’t offer the same level of protection.
And Kate's not the only one feeling the fear: Selena Gomez recently posted a photo on Instagram of herself at an airport wearing a face mask.
