Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness dubbed a 'queen' for gender-fluid VMAs look
Some of the world’s most famous faces graced the red carpet last night for the 2019 MTV VMAs but there was only one real ‘queen’ according to Twitter, as Jonathan Van Ness stole the best dressed crown.
The legendary hairstylist of ‘Queer Eye’ fame set the Internet alight when he arrived at the A-list event in one of his greatest looks to date.
Not one to stick his sartorial comfort zone, the 32-year-old chose an all-black ensemble which included a vest top (that’s one SS19 trend ticked from the list) and matching hot pants.
A pair of £508 Prada lightening bolt heels and a glitzy Chanel clutch accessorised the ensemble. But it was a sweeping Atelier by Fang couture cape which gave the look headline-worthy status.
Jonathan Van Ness, who identifies as non binary, has since commented on the VMA outfit and called out media outlets on Twitter who dubbed the small screen star a “man in a non binary outfit”.
He took to the social media platform to write, “For me, it’s actually a non binary person in a non binary outfit.”
