JLo's twins give her the sweetest surprise as she makes emotional People's Choice Award speech
Jennifer Lopez broke down in tears as her children paid a surprise tribute to her at the E! People’s Choice Awards.
The singer was honoured with the 2020 People’s Icon award and before receiving the accolade she was shown a montage of her career highlights.
JLo received many messages of support from fellow celebrities before she gave her acceptance speech, but it was a video clip from her biggest fans, 12-year-old twins, Emme and Max, that really got her emotional.
The children appeared via video link to congratulate their mum on her big win and completely stole the show with their cuteness.

Following the surprise, the Hustlers actor shared a behind-the-scenes clip on Instagram of her kids’ making their virtual appearance.
“Little did I know! Favorite moment of last night!!! It takes a village! @tombachik on the off camera cues,” Lopez captioned the sweet clip.

In the video, Emme and Max are seen nervously waiting for their cue to pay tribute to their mum.
While Emme remained composed on camera, her twin brother Max struggled to control his excitement about the whole thing.
As Max waved his arms around excitedly, Emme gently put her hands on his arm to calm him.
She even helped her brother with his lines,
“Congratulations,” Max could be heard saying while Emme encouraged him. “We’re so happy for you mum.”

After JLo shared the cute clip to Instagram, her fans headed to the comments to praise the twins on the brilliant job they did.
“This is the sweetest. Congrats,” one person wrote.
“Why is this making me so emotional? I’m over here a cryin! That just made me so happy,” another commented.
“I love how they support their mama,” yet another agreed.
The 12-year-old twins then looked on proudly, as their mother delivered her speech, opening up about the importance of people helping each other, particularly during trying times.
“Oh my god 2020 man, 2020 was no joke, right?” she began her emotional speech. “I mean, before 2020 we were obsessing about winning this award, getting nominated for that award, we were caught up on who sold the most records or who had the biggest box office opening or crazy stuff.”

Lopez went on to describe 2020 as a “great leveller” explaining that it had revealed what mattered most in life... people.
“Helping each other, loving each other, being kind to each other,” she continued. “All the importance of that connection, the human touch and I realise it’s what I strive for in everything I do, to reach to people, to touch people.
“I believe that's what we all want, shared experiences, to know that we’re not in this alone.”
She went on to thank her friends, family, fans and, of course, her children, for lifting her up when she couldn’t lift herself.
“Your belief and your faith in me motivates me to keep going and sometimes when I'm tired or beaten down like a lot of us have been this year.”

Emme and Max are Lopez’s children with her third husband Marc Anthony, whom she married in 2004 and divorced a decade later in 2014.
While Lopez’s Instagram typically features images of her professional endeavours and shots of her together with fiancé Alex Rodriguez, 44, occasionally the twins do appear on social media, providing a rare insight into the family life JLo enjoys at home.
Back in September to mark National Daughter Day and National Son Day, the singer shared video clips of her children.
For Max’s tribute, the 51-year-old actor shared a clip of her son, alongside a message of love.
In the 30-seconds video, the mother and son duo were seen playing a game the singer tagged “a test of concentration”.
She also included a line from Bruno Mars’ song, Just the Way You Are, in the video caption: "Ain't no love like this. When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change… Cause boy you're amazing just the way you are… happy #nationalsonsday!”
In honour of National Daughter’s Day, Lopez shared a super sweet video in which Emme calls her “the best mum” ever.
“Hi mum! I just want to let you know that you’re the best mum — actually, you’re over there — yeah, you’re the best mum in the whole entire world, and I couldn’t ask for a better one,” the 12-year-old says in the clip.
Last year the mum-of-two shared another sweet insight into her life at home with the twins by posting a natural image of them all cuddled up together.
In the caption, she says she is “home sweet home” after winning Best Supporting Actress at the LA Film Critics Association and refers to her boy-girl twins as her “coconuts”.
