Jennifer Connelly's 'special' meet with Prince William 35 years after Princess Diana
Top Gun: Maverick star Jennifer Connelly reflected fondly on her two Royal encounters this week.
The 51-year-old actor chatted with Prince William and his wife Kate at the film's premiere in London.
And she later revealed it wasn't her first Royal meeting, having previously spoken to Princess Diana at the 1986 Royal Command premiere of her movie Labyrinth.
When asked by Entertainment Tonight if she had ever met royalty before, Connelly replied: "1986, yes, for the premiere of Labyrinth, which was a movie I did when I was a teenager," Connelly shared. "And I got to meet William's mom, [Princess] Diana."

Connelly can be seen chatting with Diana, who was 25 years old at the time. Prince William was only four years old in 1986.
They were standing next to an animatronic creature named Ludo that had been used in the film.
The actor was in black velvet and Diana, who had Prince Charles by her side, was in a white lace and satin dress with a pearl choker and matching earrings.

Connelly, 51, said that the entire event was a "very special experience" — as was meeting Prince William for the Maverick premiere, and she admitted that she "definitely thought about" having met his late mother decades earlier.
"It was, you know, it's a very special occasion," Connelly shared. "You think about the protocols that they ask you to be mindful of when meeting them and of course, you know, Kate and William were both so gracious and reached out and shook our hands and they are just impeccable."
In Top Gun: Maverick, Connelly plays Penny Benjamin, a love interest for Cruise's Maverick.
The movie is out in cinemas now.
