For many, a handful of irresistible chocolatey-orange Jaffa Cakes is considered the ultimate afternoon treat, while a G+T is arguably the best evening aperitif.
Ever wondered what the two would taste like together? No? Us either, but we sure are excited about the creation of Jaffa Cake Gin.
The new spirit, made by pioneering drinks company Atom Group, has been distilled with oranges, fresh orange peel, cocoa powder, and yes, real-life Jaffa Cakes.
And if it’s anything like the biscuit-like cake, we bet it’s utterly morish.
As for what the concoction taste likes?
Liquor online retailer, Master Of Malt, describes the result as “full-on Jaffa cake tastiness built around a distinctive base of crisp juniper.”
While its tasting notes includes zingy orange, earthy chocolate undertone and a hint of almond-goodness. The liqueur experts also say that its resemblance to a Jaffa Cake “is uncanny”, while adding that it’s “not sickly or in any way liqueur-like.”
And if all that doesn’t persuade you, a few of its five-star reviews most definitely will.
“This gin is absolutely amazing! It IS Jaffa Cake! The most favourite gin I've ever tasted (and I taste a lot 😂) If you love Jaffa Cakes and you love gin then I highly recommend this” wrote one happy customer.
While others call it “heaven in a glass” and “honestly the best gin I’ve ever had!”
It has even managed to convert a few gin haters: “Always hated gin before this. But oh my god. This is insane.”
The 70cl spirit, which costs £27.95, comes in a fitting bright orange cork-sealed bottle and has a 42% alcohol percentage.
