Jaden Smith treats his chopped off dreadlocks to a date at the Met Gala
Jaden Smith is not shy when it comes to expressing himself through fashion. However, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s son took things to new level last night, when he escorted his own recently chopped off locks to the annual Met Gala in New York City.
Showcasing his new buzzcut, dazzling gold grills and wearing a simple all-black outfit by Louis Vuitton, the 18-year-old strolled down the red carpet with his dreadlocks in hand – talk about a style statement.

Thanks to Jaden Smith dreads will be sold as a new accessory at Urban Outfitters this summer.

Turns out there was no message behind the gesture; the star was simply left without a date when his baby sis Willow pulled out of attending. So, naturally, he thought his hair might like a night out on the town.
He explained to Vogue on the red carpet, “Since I couldn’t bring my sister as a date, I brought my old hair.”
Fair enough.
