Jada, Willow and Adrienne represent three generations of powerful women in the honest interview, where they discuss everything from feminism and drug abuse to the effects of ageing.
Of her 65-year-old mother Adrienne, a former nurse, who has revived her career by co-hosting Red Table Talk, Jada says: “As a woman, it’s such an amazing story, because women feel like as they get older their lives are over. It’s not. It’s never over. I don’t care how old you think you’re getting. My mother is 65 and her first freaking photoshoot is freaking Harper’s Bazaar!”
In the interview, Willow, 18, also speaks to her mother Jada about the pressure of keeping up a certain image.
Willow says: “We are a culture that’s about privacy and trying to make it seem like it’s something that it’s not,” while Jada responds, “Appearances, really, than living truth. But, I think that’s changing. I think people are really tired of that, and see that’s not working. It’s not worth it. It costs too much.”

Adrienne also speaks of a viral photo which showed her exercising with Willow and Jada, with the trio showing some serious abs.
She says: “This is not new. This isn’t something that I just started. Working out almost became my new obsession after my addiction. It kind of replaced one with the other.”
The fascinating interview shows – as the success of Red Table Talk has already proved – the importance of intergenerational conversation and the need to hear from women in society of all ages.
